15 minute style, how to get out the door well dressed and in no time at all!

·
We all have those days where we just cannot get out of the door on time.  The alarm didn’t go off, the dog got out, you had an unexpected call from a client, or one of the kids had an emergency!  To make things harder you’re not even dressed and it is time to leave.
Someone is going to be late and walking out the door in your house clothes is not an option.
Don’t worry, you can still look great in a rush and get yourself and your family out the door in no time at all!
  • First of all it is always helpful to be organized.  Have a system in your closet and with your beauty products so you can find anything you need instantly.  You do not want to waste minutes searching for a clean shirt or that lipstick you love!  Organizing your clothes by color and use is the best way to create an “easy- to- find- anything” closet.  Also make sure that everything has a specific place and can be seen; if you can’t see it, you will not find it when you really need to!
  • Everything in your wardrobe should ideally work in at least two complete outfits that you feel great in…if anything doesn’t, get rid of it or find pieces that will make it work.  Unusable items waste space and can block your view of pieces that are really useful.  When your reach for your favorite jacket and the cute skirt that you always wear with it is at the cleaners, you’ll always have that second choice, and you’ll know exactly where to find it.
  • And speaking of complete outfits, make sure you have true outfits complete with shoes, jewelry and possibly even outerwear! (A cute rain coat and matching boots can go a long way during a fall rain shower as you are racing the kids to school and then running to finish errands: even sopping wet you’ll feel good in your style)  Even your purse and phone case can add to the complete outfit.  A great bag can instantly make a simple outfit pop, and all you have to do is grab it as you walk out the door.
  • Some really easy ways to ensure that you always look great and well put together are to have coordinating accessories.  These accessory packages do not have to match, in fact it looks more sophisticated if they don’t, they just need to have something in common like color, shape or motif.  For example you could have your “classic” package consisting of a nude boot, a skinny belt in the same color and a classic silver cuff, or a “polka-dot” package of polka dot pumps, oversized pearls and a spotted head band.  Put either of these accessory sets with jeans and a crisp white top, or a pencil skirt and ruffled tank and you are instantly put together and good to walk out the door.
  • To be fully finished, practice a few fail safe hair and make-up looks.  Every woman needs a good “five minute face”; you should also have a well practiced up-do for your hair that you can fall back on whenever you are having one of those hair days!

So don’t stress, follow these basic hints and feel confident that you can deal with all the hurdles life throws at you on those difficult days, as well as looking great and walking out of the door on time!
